Choreographical Talks 01
Why dance
Léa Tirabasso
How can we talk about dance? And what do we talk about when we talk about dance? The CNL’s new series Choreographical Talks tries to answer these questions by commissioning choreographers based in Luxembourg to reflect upon their art. As an archive, the CNL preserves the memory of productions and artistic endeavours; with this new series, it gives movement a voice.
Léa Tirabasso studied Modern Literature and History of Art in Lyon as well as Contemporary Dance in London. In her work, she explores connections between dance and science, especially medicine. Since 2015, she has created several full-length choreographic pieces, among them TOYS (2017), The Ephemeral life of an octopus (2019) and Starving Dingoes (2021). In 2016, she was awarded the Prix Art et Lettres of the Institut Grand-Ducal.
